Text: Algebra & Trigonometry, by Michael Sullivan, 5th Edition. (I am not the author! We are not even related.) We will cover chapters 1-6.

Homework: Homework will be collected daily. You must pick up your graded homework or I will change the grade to zero.

Tests: There will be five tests. If you have a grade dispute you must see me about it within one week.

Calculators: You should get a scientific calculator like the TI-30. Programmable and graphing calculators are prohibited.

Final Exam: There will be a two hour comprehensive final exam.

Grades: Homework will count for 10% of your grade, but you must have at least a 50% average on the homework or you will fail the course. Each test will count for 10%. The final will count for 40%, but you must pass the final (at least 50%) or you will fail the course.

Cheating: The minimum penalty for cheating on a test is a grade of F in the course. The Dean's Office may wish to take further action. This is a big no no. There may be multiple versions of the tests. You may work together on the homework but the work you turn in should be your own.

Attendance: Students are required to attend all class meetings. Final course grades may be lowered by one letter grade for each unexcused absence over two. Excused absences, which must be requested in writing, may be granted for religious holidays, officially organized and documented university events, or documented illness/family emergency. In the case of religious holidays and university events, students must notify the instructor two class periods in advance and complete the required work ahead of time. In the case of illness or family emergency, students must make arrangements to make up missed work. Excused or unexcused, anyone who misses class is liable for any missed work or work not turned in on time.
