Calculator Policy: You should have and be able to use a scientific like the TI-30X or IT-36X. Graphing or programmable calculators are not allowed on tests. To check your calculator skills do the following optional worksheet on the course web page: Calculator Practice Sheet.
Software: We will use some free online software for graphing. You can choose which you wish to use. Some examples follow.

Homework: For each section of the textbook there is a list of homework problems you should do on your own. Answers are in the textbook. You will be quizzed on these.
Worksheets: These will be done in class. You may work together on them. You may use the textbook. You may need to use online graphing software.
Quizzes: There will be a quiz or test most Fridays. On some quizzes you will not be allowed to use any calculator while on others you will need a one.
Tests: Tentative test dates are: September 20, October 17 & November 22.
Final: There will be a comprehensive final exam. Some practice finals are here.
Grades: The lowest two quiz and worksheet grades will be dropped. Your course grade will then be computed as follows: Quizzes 10%, Worksheets 5%, Tests 60% (20% each), Final 25%. (I do not drop the lowest test grade.)
Attendance: Class attendance is required. There are no makeups for misses quizzes or worksheets. If you don't collect an assignment when it is returned in class the grade will be changed to zero. You may not pick up other people's assignments for them. To attempt to do so will be treated as equivalent to cheating. To get an absence excused contact me in advance.
Cheating: The minimum penalty for cheating is a grade of F in the course and you may face suspension. There will be multiple versions of the quizzes, tests and final.
