Course Policies for Math 150

Text: Calculus, by Larson, Hostetler, and Edwards.

Calculators: The TI-85 is recommended. You should have some type of graphing calculator. You cannot use calculators with symbolic integraters, such as the TI-92.

Quizzes: There will be a quiz each Friday. If you fail a quiz, you must come and see me within one week or your grade will be dropped to zero. On some quizzes you will not be allowed to use any calculator while on others, you will need one.

Homework: Homework is due each Monday. One half off for each day late. You may work together on the homework.

Final: There will be a two hour comprehensive final exam. See http://www.siu.edu/departments/oar/examfl98.htm, for the Exam Schedule.

Grades: Two homework grades and two quiz grades will be dropped. Your course grade will then be computed as follows: Homework 20%, Quizzes 50%, Final 30%.

Attendance: Class attendance is required. If you don't collect an assignment when it is returned in class the grade will be changed to zero. You may not pick up other peoples assignments for them. To attempt to do so will be treated as equivalent to cheating. To get an absence excused see me in advance, or call or e-mail me ASAP.

Cheating: The minimum penalty for cheating is a grade of F in the course. Your college dean may wish to take further action. There may be multiple versions of the quizzes and the final.
