Course policies for Linear Algebra 221

Required Texts: Contemporary Linear Algebra, by Anton & Busby.

Homework: Homework will be collected weekly. Some assignments will require the use of a computer. All assignments will be posted on the course webpage.

Tests: There will be two midterm exams. Tentative dates are Monday, September 26 and Monday, November 7.

Final Exam: There will be a two hour comprehensive final exam on Wednesday, December 14 from 7:50 to 9:50 a.m. in ENGA 410.

Grades: Your course grade will then be computed as follows: Homework 20% (lowest two dropped), Tests 40%, Final 40%.

Attendance: Class attendance is required. If you do not pick up your graded homework, the grade will be converted to a zero.

Cheating: The minimum penalty for cheating on a test is a grade of F in the course. The Dean of the College of Science may wish to take further action. This is a big no no. There may be multiple versions of the tests. You may work together on the homework but the work you turn in should be your own. Computer printout should have your name printed on them. Copying from a "solutions manual" is regarded as plagiarism.
