Project Guidelines for Math 221

1) Form groups of two or three members. On Friday March 23, let me know who is in each group. If you have trouble finding a group, let me know.

2) On Friday March 30 each group shall turn in a "project idea." Feel free discuss your ideas with me before then.

3) The project itself is due Monday, April 30. Groups may wish to set up meetings with me prior to the due date.

4) You might wish to look through chapters 7, 8 and 9 of your text for project ideas. You are encouraged to use Maple V, but this is not required. A web based project would be nice.

5) Your final project should be professional in appearance. It should not be handwritten, but some special symbols may be drawn in neatly. Your project should include an introduction and references. And, of course, a substantial amount of mathematics.

6) Imagine that you are going to turn in your project as a part of a portfolio of your work to prospective employers. You want to impress them. Pretend we are in a recession and good jobs aren't so easy to find!
