Course Policies for Math 251

Text: Stewart: Calculus With Early Transcendentals, 5th ed. We cover Chapters 12-16.

Homework: Homework is due each Friday. No late homework without a medical excuse. You may work together on the homework but the work you turn in should be your own.

Prerequisites Quiz: There will be a quiz on the first Friday that will cover the background needed for the course. See the Review Sheet. It will count as a homework assignment.

Tests: There will be two midterm exams. Tentative dates are Monday, September 26 and Monday, November 7.

Final: There will be a two hour comprehensive final exam. The exam date is Monday, December 12 12:50--2:50 p.m. It will be in our regular classroom.

Grades: Your course grade will then be computed as follows: Homework 20% (lowest two dropped), Tests 40%, Final 40%.

Attendance: Class attendance is required. If you do not pick up your graded homework, the grade will be converted to a zero.

Cheating: The minimum penalty for cheating is a grade of F in the course. The Dean of the College of Science may wish to take further action including suspension. There will be multiple versions of the tests and the final.
