Prof. Sullivan's Math 530 Homepage

We will use Munkres' Topology, 2nd edition. I will assume you are more or less familiar with the topics in Chapter 1. We will cover Chapters 2-5 & 9, and maybe more if time permits.

Homework will be collected weekly, but you may be asked to present some problems in class. There will be a midterm and a final. The homework grade and each exam grade will count for 30% for your grade. A project will count for 10% of your grade.

The Final Exam is scheduled for Thursday, May 12, 12:50-2:50 p.m.

Here are some problems from Chapter 1 you should start on as review. I'll ask you to present one or two in class on Friday.

- §3: 6, 12, 13.
- §5: 5.
- §7: 1, 5. (This section is very important.)
